This week the press moved to expand coverage of its website by adding copyeditor Janice Semmel to the web team. Semmel, a CPA, is also a graduate of the Occupational Journalism Certificate Program. She joins Amanda Jaskulski, certificate candidate and intern at Phoenix Woman magazine and Akemi Kunugi, Puma Press graphics editor. Also, supporting the web team is the student press’ new broadcast editor, Jorge Melchor, who is redesigning the Puma Press website for a contemporary news look. Melchor’s design includes a window for featuring student broadcasts. The press hopes to have the new web design in place before the posting of the November issue.
Meanwhile, this week, the first fall edition of the “Puma Press” and “Lynx” went live online and arrived at stands in hard copy. The October issue features enrollment and budget issues, the challenges faced by veterans returning to the classroom, human trafficking in Phoenix and much more.
